Your Initial Enrollment Period is a seven month window that surrounds your 65th birthday month. Use it to activate Part A and Part B and choose your first coverage path. If you prefer a Medicare Supplement and Part D, timing here is important for guaranteed approval. If you want Medicare Advantage, you can choose a Part C plan once Parts A and B are active.

Working past 65 with creditable employer insurance allows a Special Enrollment Period when that coverage ends. You have up to eight months to enroll in Part B without penalty. We coordinate your dates so there is no gap between your job-based plan and Medicare.
